Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor submited to other journal for consideration.
  • The submission has followed the prescribed stylistic format in the Author's Guidelines.
  • Cover Letter with Suggested Reviewers
  • Full Manuscript
  • List of References/Citations (with the correct page number as how they appear in the manuscript)
  • List of Tables (in separate word file)
  • Figures with figure legends (in separate file)

Author Guidelines

General Guidelines

  1. The manuscript should be submitted and compiled in the following order: Title page; Title, Abstract, Keywords; Main text; Acknowledgements; Supplementary Material (if applicable; can be submitted in a separate file); Author Contributions; Conflicts of Interest; Ethics Statement; References; Tables with captions. All figures should be submitted in a separate file.
  2. Figure number and captions should appear below each figure, align left.
  3. Figure formats should at least be 300 dpi in TIFF/JPG/JPEG format.
  4. Measurements should adhere to the internationally accepted rules (i.e., international system of units or SI). Do not italicize the units.
  5. The manuscript text should be in Arial, 12, double-spaced, with at least one-inch margin on each side, and justified throughout.
  6. Put line numbers and page numbers must be at the right bottom of the page.
  7. All abbreviations should be spelled out the first time they are used.

 

Manuscript Structure

  1. Title page shall contain the following:
  • Title of the article; should be in Arial, 15, bold, center;
  • Author/s’ full name/s, affiliations, complete mailing addresses, should be in Arial, 12, center;
  • ORCID identifier of the authors (at least the corresponding author must have an ORCID identifier); and
  • Identify the corresponding author (the primary contact person of the editors; use *).
  1. Manuscript text must be separated from the Title Page with a page break. It should contain the following:
  • Title;
  • Abstract – maximum of 250 words; It should give the importance and objectives of the study, the general methods used, the most important results obtained, the conclusions made and their significance.
  • Key Words – three (3) to six (5) words to identify the most important topics covered in the paper and for indexing purposes;
  • The main text should be structured and must have the following parts:
    • Introduction
    • Methodology - This section should provide sufficient details so that the findings may be replicated. It can also be subdivided into several subsections with concise subheadings in italic face.
    • Results and Discussion - This section should present the analyzed data in descriptive texts and discuss any connections and differences between the findings. You may use tables and graphs to present your data. Table and graph labels should be clear and supports the data being presented. The Results and Discussion sections can have subsections in Italic face.
    • Conclusion
    • Acknowledgement - Mention the funding agency, collaborating institutions, and source of data. This section should include all sources of financial support.
    • Author Contributions
    • Conflicts of Interest - The authors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationship with other individuals or organizations that could be considered as conflict of interest. Indicate if there is none.
    • Declaration of AI Use: Any use of AI tools must be declared. Outputs generated by AI tools should be reviewed by the authors, who are accountable for their academic works. A sample declaration is as follows: "While preparing this work, the author(s) employed [NAME OF AI TOOL] for [REASON]. Following its use, the author(s) thoroughly reviewed and edited the content as necessary and assume(s) full responsibility for the final content of the publication."

  1. Tables:
  • Tables should be submitted as an EDITABLE version.
  • Tables should appear at the end of the text, after the References section. Do not embed tables and figures in the text.
  • They should be numbered in the order in which they appear in the text (e.g. Table 1, Table 2, etc.). Contents (including captions) must be set in Arial 12.
  • Table captions should appear above each table, align left. Any legend or footnotes must be clearly identified below the table. Avoid vertical lines.
  1. Figures:
  • Figures should have the highest quality format possible. Photographs and scanned materials should be of a minimum resolution of 400 dpi in TIFF/JPG/JPEG format.
  • Figure width must be 75mm to 150mm and height must not exceed 230mm.
  • Send the figures in a separate document file complete with figure number and caption appearing below the figure, align left, Arial, 12.
  • Figures should be numbered in the order in which they appear in the text (e.g. Figure 1, Figure 2, etc).

For main text citations:

One Author

First time with an abbreviation:

Subsequent citations:

(WHO, 2020)

The reference list should be in an alphabetical order and must include the names of all the authors of each reference. The Journal follows the latest APA 7th edition format. Follow the examples given below.

To facilitate copyediting and checking of references, submit a COMPLETE list of all references/citations as they appear in the manuscript:

Research Article

All research articles must have new research findings that have sufficient details for validation and reproducibility. It must be original and have not been published in any journals elesewhere.

Policy Brief

Policy Brief is a concise neutral summary of a particular issue, the policy options to deal with it, and some recommendations on the best option. It is aimed at government policymakers and others who are interested in formulating or influencing policy (Food and Agriculture Organization).

Short Policy Briefs can be in a single sheet with at least 500 words and high resolution photographs (if any) and attractive designs. Longer Policy Briefs may take up to 8 pages or 3,000 words.

All Policy Briefs that will be submitted here must already be READY FOR PUBLICATION.
